A festive welcome

Friday is the day of the entry along Via Gladiola. Carried by the cheers and applause of about a hundred thousand spectators, the last kilometres towards the finish line are a dazzling, musical celebration. Marching, swinging or stumbling, every participant in the 4Days Marches is overwhelmed by the waves of enthusiasm coming from either side.

Grandstands for the entry

The entry over the spectator-packed Via Gladiola is the highlight for walkers and onlookers alike. You can be there too. From the grandstands set up on Sint Annastraat, Keizer Karelplein, Oranjesingel and Prins Bernhardstraat, you can watch as the colourful procession of walkers passes. Encourage them with your cheers and applause: as they say ‘the last mile is the longest’. Together we will ensure a grand finale

The prices for a grandstand seat vary from €17.00 to €20.00. Children up to 12 years old accompanied by an adult receive a 50% discount.

If you want to ensure a spot among the celebrating crowd at the end of the course, buy your tickets now.

If you book online, you will receive your tickets by mail within a week after ordering. Only these tickets are accepted as entry passes at the grandstands. Grandstands that are no longer displayed are not available.

If you use a wheelchair, a limited number of places are available on a special grandstand. To book these, you can contact the ticket office by phone at 024-3221100. Respond quickly because these places usually sell out early.

The ticket office at Concertgebouw De Vereeniging is open and reachable by phone at 024-3221100

Meet & Greet

After the last kilometres along Via Gladiola comes the finish at De Wedren. This area is accessible only to our walkers on Friday: otherwise it would be too crowded and we could not ensure everyone’s safety. We set up a special Meet & Greet zone next at Van Schevichavenstraat, where family and friends of the walkers are welcome to greet them as they arrive. So, you can arrange to meet there.

Accessibility

During the walking days, the Wedren is closed to all traffic throughout the day, except for Prins Bernhardstraat. This street is closed on the walking days from 3:30 AM to 6:00 PM (on Friday until midnight). Spectators are advised to use public transport or bicycles. If you want to park, use the P+R facilities on the outskirts of the city.

Cycling is permitted from 6:00 PM. Bicycles are not allowed, even if walked, before that time. Cycling up to Keizer Karelplein/Oranjesingel is permitted.

You can park your bicycle in three locations around the Wedren. Use of the bicycle parking facilities is at your own risk:

  • Bijleveldsingel, on the side of the Karel de Grote College
  • Oranjesingel, on the city side

Note: On Friday, starting from 8:00 AM, the start/finish area is closed and accessible only to walkers and authorized staff of the 4Days Marches and some residents. Guests of the honorary lodge and stands A to E also have access to the area.
